The “Actual potential” of Twitter

 

Twitter has 175 million registered users but how many users are actually active on this online platform? There are only 56 million active users on Twitter. They follow more than 8 people. This is very helpful to know for researchers and marketers. The potential to reach a lot of people is much lower as most of the people think. We will have to take this in mind.

The Fashion Lisst is a unique concept in the Netherlands. It is the first mega sample and stock sale in Amsterdam. Sample and stock sales with a huge amount of discount are usually not accessible for the average consumer. I hope this concept will be a success, because it’s an event to be proud of for the city of Amsterdam.

Ten big ideas from TED

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, is a nonprofit dedicated to “ideas worth spreading.” TED2010 has featured speaker after speaker for whom their subject matter is their life’s work.

People give their own five minute talk about what they like to talk about. It are very inspiring speeches bout ideas these bright people from all around the world have. Very interesting to listen to one of these speeches  ones in a while. It is nice that some of these speeches are on the internet because if you want to visit the event you have to bring a lot of money.

Google mimics Facebook with the new +1 button

Google developed a button next to the links you can find on the internet. This so called +1 button makes it possible to share these links with contacts from your Gmail list. It is a good opportunity to look what your friends think of different links. Are you for example not familiar with Pasta recipes it now is possible to find the best recipes your friends advice to you.

Marketers embracing QR codes, for better or worse

Described by some as a barcode on drugs, the QR or Quick Response code got people wondering what this new invention was. The QR-code was invented in 1994 in Japan and is quite common there. In the US and the rest of the world it is slowly conquering the mainstream.

The article states that marketers are embracing this invention cause of the low costs and high response it generates.

Further the article gives examples, some good and some bad, and some very creative. In the near future this marketing device is going to play a big part, according to this article.
